Got here!! landed at Pitt Meadow airport. whew!

Actually, the 12 hours and 43 minutes in cattle class wasn't too bad.!  Even Ali managed to get some sleep. Must try and get isle seats though.. clambering over seats while those in front of you have theirs fully reclined is no fun!  darn photo, is not in focus..

The good folks here at Island Coastal Aviation met us at the Vancouver airport, and we are now happily  housed in the hangar hotel!!  kinda like being at our office, except the mountains on the horizon are a LOT bigger, and if you walk around the Motueka airfield, there is no river, and we've never seen any beavers there, like we did tonight here!!!  somewhat surprising I have to admit.  Not really expecting that. Very appropriately, the beaver (animal type) was on the wooden ramp, that only a couple of hours earlier, we had watched the aircraft, named after the animal, pulled up out of the river on!! crikey.

feeling a little like sleeping now..  even though in Motueka it is only 7pm!!!  hopefully, tomorrow, we might get a photo of the animal beaver, in the meantime, one of the photos shows the system used to get the aircraft type, out of the river. Oh..  and nope, I will not be flying that one.  pity, cos they are a classic.

  2. Woohoo - pleased to hear you guys are there safe and sound!! 5 more sleeps for us..

Amazing seeing that beaver - but you can't start counting the animals and things you see, until I get there. You've got a whole weeks head start on me...not that I'm competitive or anything!:)

    MFCS!!

  3. Hmmm... noisy plane early in the morning...rather annoying...I wonder who that reminds me (and many others) of??? Hmmm...let me think...?

How fun for you learning how to take off and land the water plane!! You planning on getting one here to land on our alpine lakes? Woohoo!

  4. Alvin (I keep misreading the heading of this blog!) wouldn't do that would he? Although I do recall some sunrise photos a few years ago.
And Maryann - a bit like your non-competitive snail counting!!!!!!!!
