It's not all bad, the scenery is great, the people nice, food is ok, and we get to see whales jumping out of the water every time we hit the trails. And no, I do not have photos to prove it. You try that some time.. it isn't easy. We do however have photos like this.
and this
Which were taken from a place like this...
which is a pretty good representation of the type of terrain we are wandering up and down over in the middle of the day. The locals tell us that this weather is not entirely typical, and that we should expect some wind, rain, fog and possibly snow!! At this stage, we might all welcome a break from the heat!
Tomorrow we leave here ( Gower St, #8) and head Southish, checking out Cape Spear on the way to wherever it is we are staying next!
Funny thing happened yesterday. We drove the 30 minutes back to town from the trail end, parked and got out of the cars (3 of them) to realise that Wayne was not with us! In fact, he was quite happily drinking beer, and about to start into a bottle of good red as the rescue party arrived back at the little hamlet to find him. By all accounts, he was a little dissapointed, as the evening was shaping up to be quite a lively one!
On the RK news front, there hasn't been any, zero, zip, not even a mouse! Quite odd! There was possibly an otter, but despite the best efforts of most of the group, it and it's little otter baby, stayed in the stream and avoided the nearby road. If it stays like this, we may have to try and run over someones dog, just for effect!!!!
| Quidi Vidi. They make nice beer there! |
| A nice section of the trail, it is not all this civilised. |
